Bruncle #2 arrived late Friday evening to meet baby girl.
Accompanied by his loverly wife (heretofore, forevermore known as his Better Half), who's now an accidental--and fabulous--redhead.
Since we were all together for about 48 hours, we wanted to go do something fun in Dallas that we wouldn't normally do, so we decided to check out the blown-glass, Chihuly art exhibit at the Dallas Arboretum.
Sounds fancy-pants, right? That's just how we roll. We like a little culture to go along with our laziness. Makes us feel better about our couch-sitting time watching the opening ceremony of the Olympics that started off promising, but took a turn for the oh-so-strange right around the time doctors and nurses started dancing around next to the huge blow-up version of Voldemort, who was defeated by an army of flying Mary Poppins (Mary Poppinses? Mary Poppinss?). If you didn't watch and that sentence seems strange to you, I can guarantee that it was just as strange to watch.
Anywho...back to Chihuly.
We decided to go early in the morning. Or rather, as early as we could all get out the door with a newborn. We thought that might keep the heat from being so oppressive that we would want to die. And I suppose, technically, we never wished for death after 90 minutes of walking around outside. We just wished for huge vats of ice to dunk our drenched bodies in. But the exhibit was nifty, and well worth it, despite the heat.
Here are some of the thousands of pictures we took (and by "we" I mean people other than myself, who actually have quality cameras instead of just their iPhones that they like to pretend are high-quality cameras).
These pictures really don't do the exhibit justice. If you're in Dallas, or visiting anytime soon, go check it out. It's a cool thing to do. And it will make you feel just a little bit artsy-fartsy.
Peace out.
Oh, and thanks Pat and Amy for blazing the exhibit trail first so we knew it was there ;)
