So, I didn't have the chance to watch the closing ceremony of the Olympics over the weekend, but I hear I missed out on some fun. Word on the street--it was like one, giant British music-fest. And hey, I'm up for anything that includes: 1) the Spice Girls reuniting (I mean, the footwear alone) 2) Russell Brand channeling Willy Wonka (I have no words), and 3) footage of John Lennon singing "Imagine" (classic).
Bummed I missed it.
However, despite missing the ceremony, I suspect a tiny human in my life soaked in more of the two-week sports prowess than I thought. It all started when I saw this pretty familiar image of Usain Bolt:
Something about it made me stop and say: huh. I feel like I've seen that somewhere before. In a slightly modified form. So I started scrolling through my iPhone pics to see if I was just crazy.
But no.
First, there was this:
Just a hint of a raised hand there. But it was definitely starting just the day after she was born. (And, yes, that's a screen grab of an image I did not purchase, yet slapped right up there, despite the "for web viewing only" disclaimer. Don't judge me. Or turn me into the copyright authorities.)
Next, there was this:
She was sleep posing. Working on getting that arm further up there, whilst simultaneously putting some cute baby meat on those scrawny little legs.
Then, there was this:
No doubt about it, she had the look of determination 'a brewin' on her six-week birthday.
Then, this:
Look--she can go left or right. And look oh. so. serious.
Which totally contradicts the following shot, which is quite possibly the cutest little sly I've-got-a-secret smile that I've seen from her yet:
Today I decided that if she was going to work that pose so often, I was going to strap on her cute little Lamaze toy (thanks, Pat!) so she could attempt to have a little learning/discovery fun while she was at it:
See--the Olympics really are fun for everyone :)
