Yet again, my precious little booger waited 72 hours to poo. And where did she finally let loose? In Hobby Lobby. Nice.
Of course, since I'd been waiting a few days to have the chance to run there to scout out a few things for a project I'm working on, I refused to let the ill-timed poo ruin my fun. Instead, I just resigned myself to the fact that there'd be a mess to clean up after the twelve minutes it would take to finish, pay, and drive around the corner to the house. And let's face it: when isn't there a mess to clean up these days?
For the record, it wasn't that bad this time:
Just all up one entire side of her body, splayed up to the middle of her back, and leaked onto the car seat.
What? That's not so bad, right???
Ri-iiight.
The best part (and by best, I mean, worst), was that I actually had to save the seeping, simmering, pile of poo and attempt to package it up as best I could, in order to take it to her pediatrician's office for testing.
That's one delivery you just never feel good about handing over. What's the protocol for that one??? I pretty much just apologized profusely as I handed the zip-lock bag to the receptionist, and mumbled something like, "um, here's my daughter's, um, sample." Then I high-tailed it out of the office as fast as I could.
The bad news: my poor Baby Girl has tested positive for a milk protein allergy. Based on some symptoms she'd been exhibiting since about the three-week mark, her "sample" had been tested once before, but it had been too soon for it to register. Today: ding, ding, ding--we have a winner.
And by "winner," I mean :(
What does this mean? No dairy whatsoever for Mama. Then we re-test a sample once a month until we get a negative and can re-introduce dairy into my diet. I'm told this will pass as her gut matures (at least, in most cases). Just no telling how long before it does. Could be one month, could be a couple years. Let's all hope for the best. 'Cause Mama ain't happy if she ain't got no latte!
Or ice cream.
Or yogurt.
Or cheese.
Geez.
