Today, Baby Girl's pink Old Navy kicks finally fit!
I think she dug wearing them, 'cause they helped her to reach the floor in her Jumperoo without the help of a shoe box.
Doesn't she look so proud of herself???
We kept the kicks on to go run some errands--one of which was DSW (or, as we call it in our household, DS-Dub, 'cause we're cool like that). These days, I usually just carry Baby Girl in my arms since she stays more content went she can look around. And what girl--even a not-quite-four-month-old doesn't love looking at rows upon rows of be-a-utiful shoes??
A good time was had by all--until I made it back to the front of the store (sadly, with no purchases 'cause I'm cheap and want everything to be on sale), where a sweet stranger kindly pointed out that Baby Girl was minus one pink shoe.
Boo.
I'm not gonna lie: I thought about just leaving the store, since I wasn't even sure where exactly it was lost. In the car? On some sidewalk? In one of the previous stores we'd visited? But I summoned the strength (by reminding myself of that cheapness), and set about weaving through every aisle of the store until...
we found it. Lying smack dab in the center of one aisle, looking so cute and tiny next to all those adult-sized shoes. (I took a pic, but it came out blurry, so just imagine the preciousness of it lying there.)
I just love the irony of a lost baby shoe in DSW.
And I like to think that Baby Girl kicked it off in that spot on purpose, because she really wanted me to take one more look at the gorgeous, velvet platform pumps that I wish I was sassy enough to wear.
;)
