However, the cessation of reading due to typed over-sharing can wait one more day. Because today, I need to take a moment to share three very important events that were commemorated today.
#1:
31 years ago today, I was baptized.
Yep--that's my godparents on the left, and my parents on the right.
Let's take a closer look, shall we?
Look how lovely and respectable everybody looks--and surprisingly not outdated (in my opinion). That's what classic, earth tone suits will do for ya. Keep you from looking like you were a product of the '80s, even when the picture is a product of the '80s.
I keep this pic in the pages of my Bible. Don't know why. But it's been there since I was about 16, and it's always made me smile. Now, more so than ever, since Baby Girl looks so much like my infant self.
Let's zoom in just a little more, shall we? Then you can judge the resemblance for yourself.
Fun fact: I sent my godparents (who, sadly, I haven't seen in years) a Christmas card, and today, I got a lovely note in response. I just love those kind of touch points from peeps you haven't corresponded with in some time.
#2:
10 years ago today, the hubby and I were married.
I know what you're thinking: but you look so young! How could you possibly be married for 10 years already??!!!
That's what you're thinking, right?? Right??
Lie to me if you weren't thinking that.
Be kind and lie.
With a straight face.
Just please don't tell me that my sleep deprivation and overall general mommy make-under has added a decade or so to my appearance, thereby increasing the decade-long marriage plausibility. Please. Puh-lease. And then could you maybe take me somewhere I can be carded? I don't care if you have to ask a bartender to card me when I'm not around. Just help a girl out on this very special day :)
I'm happy to report that the hubby and I had a fabulous anniversary and hung with our beloved kiddo all day long, whilst completing normal tasks like grocery shopping, having our home heater serviced, and my car's brakes checked. Just a low-key, lazy (yet productive) day as a threesome. It was good. Life is good. And 10 years have gone by in a blink.
#3:
Six months ago today, Baby Girl was born.
Just look at that bundled up little nugget. I just wanna nibble on her a bit.
Life really is good. We're feeling very blessed today, and I hope you are, too.
P.S. My cousin got married today in Florida, and though we couldn't be there for the happy celebration, we hope December 27th is as good to them as it's been to us.
