"On the second day of Christmas, my true love gave to me..."
Now that I stop to think about it, the Twelve Days of Christmas song is somewhat vague. Are they meant to be the twelve days leading up to Christmas??? Anybody know for sure? 'Cause that would be weird if the twelve days started on Christmas Day and gifts were still flowing through the first week of January. I mean, I'm all for extending the holiday, but I'm assuming it's a song meant to celebrate the lead-in to the big day.
And speaking of lead-ins to the big day (You like that transition there? Eh? Eh?), here's what my family did on the Sunday before Christmas:
We ate.
We went to church.
We ate.
We shopped.
We ate.
We napped.
We snacked.
We ate.
We watched a movie.
We slept.
Isn't that an idyllic day-before-Christmas-Eve? I think so.
Oh, and somewhere in there, when we were dressed in our church finery, we took a couple of pics. I would post more, but lots of them turned out blurry because I was more interested in making silly faces at my kiddo than making sure my iPhone camera was focusing. Imagine that.
But here are a few cute ones. First, Baby Girl with her Nanna (in coordinating reds). And second, Baby Girl with her Pony-giving uncle (who has a lovely beard that was irresistible to an infant's tiny, grabby hands).
Fun fact. The above dress, modeled by one adorable Baby Girl, was purchased for the low, low price of $4.13 at Old Navy. I just love bargain-basement deals, don't you? In fact, I love them so much and love that dress so much, let's take another look, since Nanna is so conveniently holding Baby Girl in a way that shows off the dress so well in this one:
And last but not least, to round out this Day 2 post, here's a pic of a sleeping little babe.
So peaceful. So cute.
More tomorrow. Christmas Eve fun. Lots to share.
