Indoor/Outdoor Girls

Baby Girl and I are what you might call indoor gals.

We like our clean hardwood floors and our soft, vacuum-cleaned carpets.

And our thermostat-controlled temperatures and detergent-fresh clothing.

I mean, don't get me wrong--we love to get out and about. We even enjoy our regular walks around the neighborhood during this lovely season that's not too hot, not too cold, and not at all full of bugs.

I've just rarely (and by "rarely" I mean, never) let chica actually touch the outdoors. We just walk by it with an appreciative glance.

So this weekend, when we hauled Baby Girl's lovely godmother along with us to the park (after both a failed attempt to visit an eggstravaganza, and one parking lot phone retrieval--another story for a post titled: Mama's Not So With It), the adorable little tyke was fascinated by the grass:

Of course, being a true Mama's girl, she wouldn't actually crawl on the grass. She just stuck close to the blanket.

Or perched on the lap of her godmother (who's required by fairly godmother decree to forgive me for posting a picture without permission):

Lucky for us, that same lap-providing fairy godmother was kind enough to flower-bomb us today with these GORGEOUS daffodils:
So us indoor gals can just bring our approved outdoors inside with the air-conditioning and carpet, and continue to get our Vitamin D in small, fair-weather, non bug-involved increments :)
