The hubby scored brownie points last year when he bought me flowers and a card on Mother's Day, even though Chica was still in m'belly. But technicalities (and thoughtful spouses aside), this was my first official year to celebrate, and I have one thing to say:
Who knew it was such a big deal???
When I look back on this first year with my kiddo and my hubby, I'll remember a be-a-uuuutiful day full of precious, priceless family time, a little bit of spoilery (ahem...jewelry), and...the unexpected kindness of strangers!
At church.
At breakfast.
In the mall.
At the grocery store.
In the parking garage.
I mean, you name the location and while I was there (usually holding Chica on my hip), somebody stopped to wish me well and give me the kind of extra-special smile reserved for extra-special days.
It was wonderful.
And so meaningful.
I only hope Mama's the world over felt a little more loved-up by someone special (or even some stranger) today.
Happy Mamas' Day.
:)
