Splatter!

So there we were in the laundry room following our afternoon walk. Just chillin' as we sat on the cool tile letting our body temps return to normal.

Mama was removing her shoes and Chica was exploring as usual--just poking around. That is, until she realized she was tall enough to yank down a pile of Daddy's baseball hats from this corner storage unit.

The move was no biggie--except for the fact that there was a small glass container of automobile touch-up paint beneath the pile of hats. And that small glass container came crashing down with the rest of Chica's discovery.

Luckily, it didn't shatter, it just sort of broke in half with a few larger pieces letting loose. But since the hats covered it, I didn't realize it had happened--until Chica got really quiet (in that way kiddos only seem to do when they're up. to. no. good.).

That's when I realized she was sitting around a pile of oozing, black, auto paint.

And trying her hand at finger-painting.

Oye, oye, oye.

Perhaps she's seen too many previews of Johnny Depp as Tonto in The Lone Ranger???

The ordeal required an immediate evacuation and emergency bath time.

And, naturally, the baby soap didn't cut it. I had to go for the Dawn to cut through the caked-on paint.

Oh well...at least I know she was good and scrubbed before bed time :)

Happy Monday, peeps.
