Yes, that's right. We hibachi-ed (I'm gonna make that a verb) with a toddler.
I'm not gonna lie--we were a little scared about the prospect, and, yes, there was a last minute dash back to the house to retrieve a forgotten self phone, as we'd never attempt such a feat without the backup of the Disney Junior Live iPhone app.
But it was our anniversary. And more importantly, it was Chica's one and a half-year birthday. So we made it happen, gosh dang it!
We came. We ate. We conquered.
:)
It was our first visit to this particular hibachi (by our new house, obviously), and it helped that it was a little more casual than the one we used to frequent. It also helped that our table was half empty, save for the presence of another cutie-pie kid.
Chica did so well--with the exception of the ginormous flame that burst into the air and scared the ever-living crap out of her. She whipped around in my lap so fast, then started crying and trying to claw her way farther from the fire. But I'm happy to report that she quieted down very fast, and then became enamored with the food prep.
There were a few little "wow"s coming from her as she watched the egg twirling and knife play. It was cute. She was cute. And then two minutes later, she was like: been there, done that, I'm gonna keep watching Disney Junior, peeps. Ha.
We topped the evening off with gelato and a stop by a super-duper flashy Christmas tree.
I love my little family. And I can't imagine a better anniversary/Chica's 18-month bday.
Happy Friday, peeps! Oh, and enjoy these other random, adorable pics from earlier in our day:
