Today, my beloved daughter had to be strong-armed into a morning nap (translation: held in Mama's arms like she was straight-jacketed) for nearly 40 minutes before she gave into her extreme, eyes-rolling-into-the-back-of-her-head exhaustion.
Today, my beloved daughter giggled when she craned her neck up at the ceiling above her car seat, prompting Mama to notice the spray of cherry Icee that has been living up there for weeks.
Today, my beloved daughter reminded me to close the garage door before leaving, when she mimicked pressing the button on my windshield visor.
Today, my beloved daughter squeezed half of a tube of yogurt onto her sweater at lunch.
Today, my beloved daughter also spewed a decent amount of organic apple juice on Daddy's dress slacks at lunch.
Today, my beloved daughter squatted next to our painting contractor as he took some final living room measurements and took a big-as-you-please, stinky, smelly poo.
Today, my beloved daughter also stole said painting contractor's shoes from the front door, requiring a bit of a wild goose chase for him to actually leave our house.
Today, my beloved daughter drank her bedtime milk whilst bathing, 'cause she just couldn't (translation: wouldn't) wait until the bath was done and she was dry.
Today, my beloved daughter got her hair washed with body soap, because Mama found her shampoo quite some time after the bath--in the corner of the playroom.
Mama is tired.
Daddy is tired.
But Chica is beloved.
Though, admittedly, a whole heap of beloved trouble.
