But I think it's about time to devote an entire post to just. how. much. she digs said jewelry.
'Cause lemme tell ya--it's a WHOLE DARN LOT.
It all started a while back when I let her wear one of my own necklaces. She thought it was so special that she pranced around like she was the cutest kid on the planet (and, of course, she was).
Things progressed to the point that she wanted to snag anything I was wearing (not to mention, anything that anybody else was wearing) for her own use, so I decided to just buy her a few pieces of her own (and so did her lovely Aunt Amber)--though, for the record, that doesn't keep her from wanting anything and everything I wear.
So now, some photographic evidence.
Here she was a few days ago when we happened to pass a jewelry section in the store:
I've gotten smart enough to avoid all areas with copious amounts of necklaces, but I made a rookie mistake in this particular store when I cut through the purse section, and then we were toast. Daddy found us around the time Chica had five lovely selections piled around her neck. Wasn't pretty to take them off and leave the store, ha.
So in an attempt to keep us from spending a gazillion dollars on jewels, I though it might be a good idea to make a trip to a super cheap jewelry store down the road to get my beloved little nugget a couple of inexpensive items. But I had to go when Daddy could watch her, because I never would have made it out alive if I took her along.
When I got home and gave her the new necklace and bracelet (the turquoise pieces), this was the smile I got :)
To say she was pumped about the gift was a bit of an understatement. She didn't let the jewels out of her clutches all day. Literally.
It's gotten to the point where Chica wears her "necks" (as she so sweetly calls them) all day, every day, and it's just so dang cute.
She wears them while brushing her teeth (and watching Daddy shave)...
She wears them while out and about, getting something to eat...
She wears them in her car seat...
She wears them while running errands and chilling in the cart...
She wears them while dumping out an entire bag of Christmas confetti wrapping on Mama and Daddy's bathroom floor...
She wears them on her changing table...
She wears them on Christmas morning...
I think you get the idea :)
She wears them ALL. THE. TIME. Though I draw the line at any wearing whilst sleeping or bathing (though, believe me, she tries). And I learned early on that they have to be long necklaces so she's able to get them safely on and off herself, without frustration.
I gotta say--it's one of my favorite phases so far. It brings a nonstop smile to my face, and it seems to do the same to anyone we meet. So here's hoping it continues.
Happy Thursday, peeps!
