Gettin' Our Nature On

There's a nature museum and wildlife sanctuary just a couple miles away from our casa, and yesterday, enticed by the puuuuuurfect weather, we finally paid it an inaugural visit.

Woohoo, nature!

The big draw in the Fall is the animatronic dinosaur display along one of their many trails. But it went over like a lead balloon with a currently-skittish toddler I know.

I mean, what about moving, noise-making, life-sized dinosaurs with sharp teeth is scary????

;)

She preferred to peek only from the arms of Daddy, and only from a distance.

Chicklet was down with the 'soars, though. Roaaaar!

Even further on down the path, in breaks between species, Chica was still watching her back. Too funny.

She felt safer when she rocked her sunglasses, sweet thing. So she was shaded for a decent portion of that trail, hehe.

Luckily, there were animals, butterflies, and flowers to bring her back out o' her shell a bit after the dinosaurs were long gone.

And plenty of shady spots (aside from the miles and miles of forested trails we didn't get the chance to hike this time) to stop and sit a spell.

So now, please enjoy a ridicukously gratuitous number of pics of my sweet babe, who totally had her smile on megawatt.

Mama swapped with Daddy and had her giggling up a storm.

Happy girl, happy girl.

(We'll just not mention the other 90% of the day, when she was quite the high-maintenance curmudgeon.)

Good to do something new with the fam. I'm sure we'll be back to explore more.

Until then...peace out. And enjoy the last few hours of the weekend!
