It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas...So Help Me

So, last year, Chiristmas was a sad state of affairs 'round here.

No time for happy holiday shopping. Pathetically few decorations. And no real enjoyment of the general season due to sheer ever-loving, all-encompassing exhaustion and overwhelmption (yep--I made that a word.)

That's what happens when you friggin' move the day before Thanksgiving (and are pregnant and also caring for a toddler while trying to unpack and nest).

So this year, we're doing it up riiiiiiight.

And by that, I mean we're going to have a Christmas EXPLOSION a la Griswolds (but by our tasteful standards...I hope).

Lights. Trees. Thoughtful gifts. And a Christmas spirit to rival a freaking North Pole Elf's gosh darn it.

But I gotta admit--I had a false start to my decorating tonight when I freaked over some garland I saw in a new PB Kids catalogue, panicked when I couldn't find it online, jumped like a maniac around my living room after hounding my local store and locating the item(s), dragging a visiting Nanna with me to said store before closing (whilst playing a holiday CD), only to discover...

THAT PB MADE A MISTAKE AND MISCODED THE GARLAND IN THE CATALOGUE AND IT MAY OR MAY NOT EXIST AND/OR BE FOR SALE.

Waaaaaaaaaaah!

Why, oh WHY have you forsaken me, PB?????!!!

(She cries as she crawls into a pit of depression.)

I shall remain in my glass case of emotion as I stalk PB's website day and night until I figure out if this garland is available (and at the price that's certainly too good to be true.)

In the meantime, I shall continue ramping up my holiday spirit by putting my beloved daughters in glorious headgear, like this...

And this...

And I will not be disheartened by my toddler's lack of enthusiasm for said felt headgear. She'll warm up to it and get over her mother's embarrassing enthusiasm ;)

HAPP FREAKING HOLIDAY SEASON 2014!!!
