Formerly-Known-As-Candy Cane Cookies

So, I bought a box of Betty Crocker candy cane cookie mix pre-holiday, but we never got around to baking them. So this afternoon, we busted it out and made Valentine heart cookies instead!

Chica was kind enough to prep the green bowl...

And then the blue bowl...

Then we mixed up the red dough...

Then I took my life (and the life of my kitchen) into my own hands by letting Chica pour the white dough mix into the bowl herself...

And then we let the dough chill a bit, ran out to pick up some dry cleaning, came back and rolled out the red dough and white dough and twisted them together like ropes and shaped them into hearts, and...I took pictures of none of this--ha. Life with my sweet, teething baby gets hectic during the witching hours of early evening.

The cookie dough is there under her sweet face. She's just uber up close and personal, hehe.

Oh, and I have one group shot to show that Chicklet was there for the baking fun, too. Strapped to my chest because she won't get more than an inch away from me these days. 

And yes, yes I am wearing red, fleece, snowflake pajama pants with one of my hubby's random blue shirts.

I'm classy like that, peeps.
