Chicklet's First Trim

This morning, I finally trimmed the shaggy back of Chicklet's hair...for the very first time. (Waaaaaaaaah, my babies keep growing older. SOMEBODY MAKE IT STOP!)

And I can't get over how much that small little trim changes her whole look so much--at least to me, her crazy, emotional Mama.

But it was definitely time. She was getting a little unkempt in the back, and she has so little hair to begin with that trimming it made it look a teeny-tiny bit thicker.

Here's the before:

I just love my little nugget SO much and I'm so proud of her growing independence. She's so happily curious about the world these days, and never happier than when we set her free--like we did during tonight's family walk.

Of course, it took us twelve hours to cover an eighth of a mile, but who can rush this kind of joy? ;)

These days are so precious and so fleeting. I'm constantly reminding myself to soak in every wobbly step and budding skill. Because before I know it, she'll be as grown and smart and OLD as this one:
