Dragonflyers Project

We finally busted out this month's Kiwi Crate project box--totally fun bug-theme, BTW--and Chica selected the Dragonflyers as her first task :)

First up: coloring the wings with nifty dual markers that come out one color...

And then morph into another color when you go over it with the spiffy white marker provided:

Then we punched out the dragonflies and attached them (with double-sided tape) to these plastic tube thingies (very technical term):

Next...we set up what I'll call our launch device (bottle, straw and foam cork):

Time to test it out!

We placed our plastic tube-mounted dragonfly onto the launch device straw...

Squeezed the tube and watched it FLY!

We did it over and over to see how far we could get it:

Chica was pretty great at getting the dragonfly set to launch but she needed a little oomph help squeezing the plastic bottle:

She had fun with it. And so did Chicklet (who only ate one of dragonflies we'd colored). And so did Daddy when he got home.

So in summary...Dragonflyers = thumbs up.

Happy Hump Day!
