First Swim Lesson!

If last summer was the Summer of the Splash (which it was, thanks to Chica's beloved outdoor splash toy), then I'm declaring this summer the Summer of the Swim!

First, the gym/pool membership, and then today, the girlies had their first (drum roll, puh-lease)...SWIM LESSON!

I signed them up a few weeks ago for a 10-week, Friday morning class at a nearby, reputable academy, and Chica's been anxiously counting down the days.

Unfortunately, I'll never get any pics to share because I'm in the water with Chicklet for her water babies class while Chica is in another area of the pool for her aquatots class, so you'll just have to use your imagination.

But here are my crazies soooo excited in the car before walking in:

Needless to say, she LOVED her class. Victory!

I was a little worried about her since I wasn't going to be with her, but she's in a class with two little boys (and she just luvs boys) and has a very sweet, young, female instructor. So as soon as she had her intertube around her, she pounced into the water without any further hesitation and had a blast.

Chicklet, on the other hand...well, she has nowhere to go but up--ha.

My fearless water baby from earlier this week at the pool apparently doesn't want to be held in water she can't stand in, so she protested. Loudly.

There are six babies (and parents) in her class, and at least one who cried a decent bit, as well (though not as much). So we'll just stick by the other cutie-pie noise maker and hope things improve.

So here's to swim lessons and what's definitely felt like the first week of summer!
