Spring Painting (And Rainy Day Car)

We've had a couple of relatively low-key days 'round our casa--in part, because the weather turned yucky again, and in part, because we're being a tad lazy. Ha.

But laziness in the form of pajamas all day and not leaving the house much does not equate to lack of activity. We've still be gettin' our craft on.

Yesterday's highlight: some painted, wooden, Spring ornaments (perfect for the Easter tree! Did I post pics yet?? Me thinkee, no.)

Anywho. Often, during project time, it's fairly noisy, due to Chicklet's slightly destructive toddler tendencies, and Chica's resulting cries of protest.

But this time, there was silence.

It was insane in the membrane.

I bought each girl their own ornament (that came with those three, tiny paint containers), so there was no fighting, and they were focused. I mean, totally plugged-in arteests.

Just look at this concentration:

I even got right up in their angelic faces and they didn't blink an eye.

I was slightly concerned they'd been drugged.

But nope. They just luuuuurv painting. It's their very favorite activity.

If it wasn't a tad messy, I would let them go nuts every day.

I mean, by the time Chicklet was done inadvertently swiping her face with paint (totes adorbs), I had to haul her in a quick shower with me, just to make it easy.

But it was no biggie at all in exchange for seeing them so into their project.

And the swirl of chaotic colors in each ornament ended up super-duper cute.

So, yay, for our first Spring/Easter project!

In other rainy-day project news...we assembled this fun, cardboard car I purchased months ago and kept tucked away in the closet.

It was entertaining, but not the very best ever, as it was easily-squashed and mostly built by moi instead of them. Not as much play potential as our cardboard house from a couple months ago (that was by the same brand).

But, hey--they colored parts of it, and it was a diversion on this yucky, rainy day.

So I'll take it!

But here's hoping for better weather tomorrow!

Night, peeps.
