Chica's Second Birthday!

You know a party is-a' coming when a ginormous, glittery-green, beautimus-maximus Frozen Fever Elsa shows up in the casa.

Like, a six-foot tall Elsa I can pose next to for wildly hilarious and unflattering (for Elsa, obviously) pics ;)

Next up in the party prep fun fun fun...cupcake push pops!

I thought that would be a super-cute alternative to a standard cake, and they were far easier to make than I predicted (well, if you ignore the first one I disastrously killed when I accidentally pushed it up and sent it flying whilst icing. There were lots of four letter words, ha. And then I got in a groove.)

Then came the dining room decorating. Basically, an explosion of Frozen fun. (Hi, Elsa.)

I love these adorable little bottles with straws I snagged from the Target dollar bins. I'll definitely be using them again.

Not gonna lie...Elsa totally freaked me out a couple times last night when I had to walk through the dark house to tend to Little Man. Hehe. But I still love her bunches of oats.

Okay, fast forward to this morning. We prepped a load of balloons to greet Chicklet, and I let Chica be the bearer.

Here she is outside the bday girl's door.

Sweetie pie two-year-old. Older and wiser, I can tell already.

She was pretty dang enthused about Elsa. And so sweetly tried to share a balloon with her.

And, of course, it's a birthday girl's prerogative to eat her breakfast in her princess gear with her balloon.

Now fast-forward to after dance class when the real, crazy fun began.

We've been having such a good time with our monthly play dates, and it just so happened we could sync this one up with the big bday, so...win/win!

We had a fantastic turnout today. Loads of happy kiddos. As usual, they ran wild for a while, played dress-up, dolls, kitchen--you name it, they love it.

And, also per usual, I had a little craft project ready (that I forced Nanna to do the prep grunt work for, ha). These butterfly cutouts that the kids could decorate with tissue paper, pom poms, and stickers.

I just luv seeing crafty tots.

Chicklet loved making it rain pom poms. And why not? The birthday girl can do whatever the heck she wants!

Meanwhile...Nanna had the "terrible" task of snuggling Little Man for a downstairs nap since his space upstairs was just a wee bit rowdy (understatement).

Back upstairs, a gaggle of princesses were playing with dolls in Chica's room. They pulled down the shades, put the dolls to bed, and sweetly told me I could go back with the other moms when I checked on them, ha.

They really love playing in there during these play dates, and I think it's precious.

Of course, like most birthday girls, Chicklet needed just a few minutes to regroup before another wave of crazy. Too sweet.

And then came the procession downstairs for the Chick-fil-A I slaved over all night.

Also a wild success with the crowd. I highly recommend their catering platters.

It was mass chaos at its best.

Post food, a bunch of the girls raced upstairs for a quick victory lap before their moms could grab them to head home for naps. And I walked up to find the birthday girl sitting in her grocery cart, ha.

I think we did a good job of demolishing the food.

But just look how sweet and happy the special girl is with her cupcake push pop.

So happy, she was. And covered in purple icing.

A few hours later, after a bath and nap and some quiet play...Daddy was home to his birthday girl!

And he came bearing a sweet (literally) cookie cake :)

And we finally sang Happy Birthday.

And the birthday girl opened a couple sweet, little gifts.

And then, being the adorable hoarder she is, she packed up her haul in a bag to carry with her :)

I really really think she had a fantastic day and could tell it was all special just for her.

Me sweet, determined, curious, growing, singing, Sofia-loving, sibling-snuggling, jelly-bean enthusiast, TWO-YEAR-OLD, beautiful daughter who I love soooooooo much.

Happy Birthday :)
