Coral Reef Project

Hellooooo, peeps, and Happy Wednesday!!!

After a few days of lots o' errands and busyness, we settled in for a home day today.

The kids ran around like banshees, nobody got dressed, teeth and hair brushing were questionable, aaaand, we busted out a project.

Our monthly Kiwi Crate was a coral reef theme :) and perhaps because we'd gone a few days without a project, or perhaps because this one involved making jellyfish, Chica was pumped.

And both girlies totally tore into the box of supplies like it was Christmas morning.

The first step involved coloring and then smudging it with a sponge to make it sort of muted and water-color-like.

And because that involved water, Chica was enthusiastically into it. We did a practice round on paper...

And then the official round on one of the ocean landscapes.

Next up was the jellyfish assembly--which I had to do most of, but it was pretty easy and the end result was adorable.

It came with supplies for two, and the girlies loved 'em.

(Hi, Little Man, sittin' all cute like.)

Last step was building this sort of shadow box thingie (very technical). We positioned the ocean landscape, rigged up a jellyfish (which sounds totally cruel, but let's just think of like a puppet scene, yes?).

This little pulley system let the jellyfish swim and dance.

And all was good in the world because we got our craft on in our Jammies (well, except Chicklet, who had to dress today because of a breakfast spill. Oh--and Little Man, who spit up so dang much he had three outfit changes.)

Glad the long weekend is fast approaching!
