Pinball Machine Project!

Okay, peeps. It's official.

We busted out our beloved monthly Kiwi Crate project today, and confirmed two things:

1. It's still beloved
2. But...the difficulty has outpaced us

Back in the day, when I first started this subscription (18 months or nearly two years ago, I think), the projects were far easier for little participants (think: sock puppet glow worms they stuffed and decorated).

But the projects have steadily grown more complex over the past year--which hasn't been a bad thing, as the complexity has meant far cooler end results that the girlies have had a blast playing with (think: balloon race cars).

But the downside to that is far less participation during the creation.

Never fear, though. It's an easy fix.

I'm simply bumping us down a difficulty level to the Koala Crate subscription, which is meant for younger kiddos, and will be much more age appropriate for the time being (I suspect).

And in the meantime--since it might take a month to set things to the new crate level--we'll continue to enjoy the awesomesauce projects we receive. Like this super cool pinball machine!

It's become one of my very favorite things to watch the girlies tear into the supplies when we open the box each month.

Of course, their enthusiasm often means supplies go-a-flyin' and I have to teach them down, ha. But still. Their joy is infectious.

They kept busy coloring while I got my engineering groove on ;)

And were occasionally able to help with small bits and pieces.

And luckily, though this was another involved project, it was a relatively efficient one, so we were able to get to the fun of testing it out before long.

They luuuurved the rubber-band driven sling shot bit at the bottom that hurled the marble up into the game board.

And who doesn't love a bunch o' rubber bands, right??

Another bonus to this project--it's super sturdy. So I think it'll be around for a long while. (And I'm not gonna lie--I think even Daddy might get a kick out of it).

Happy Almost Friday, peeps!
