The Heard

My beloved crazies and I just wrapped up a lovely three-day weekend (the hubby took Friday off work--woohoo!). And for once, it was the kind of long weekend that actually felt like one--praise the heavens!

We took care of low-key, random errands, we played, we watched movies. And tonight, we enjoyed the rain that began as soon as we got home from dinner.

It's likely to storm most of the night--and I'm great with that; better for reading--as long as everyone stays safe. But the rain got me thinking about a day of the exact opposite kind of weather that we had over the holiday break, and took wonderful advantage of.

On a gorgeous, perfect day shortly after Christmas, went to a nearby nature museum and wildlife sanctuary that we'd only been to once, shortly after we moved to our current house. And just like the first time we went, it was an amazing, wonderful outing that was one of the highlights of our holiday time.

I've just finally sifted through the pics to post, and it makes me happy all over again to see them. Can't wait until we go back again.

:)

Fake alligator...

Animatronic dinosaurs...

A few small animals, like bobcats...

And tons o' wide open space and hiking trails.

It was soooo lovely and refreshing. A truly beautiful family day.

Oh, and ornament souvenirs... ;)

Happy Sunday, peeps.
