Arboretum--Fall 2017

So...today was a gloriously beautiful Fall day.

And Chica was off from school (parent/teacher conferences; her review was glowing).

And Daddy took off work.

So we made excellent use of the happy family day by making our Fall trip to the Arboretum.

For the past three or four years, we've done this with the cousins/aunt/uncle/great aunt, so we missed them all very much. But it was a total joy to take Nanna with us, since she hadn't been there during the Fall since Chica was a baby.

(Too bad Nanna ended the excursion with a bang by getting stung by a bee on the hand!)

Little commentary needed on all these happy, beautiful pics. You can see the kiddos were in heaven, thrilled to be outdoors and enjoying the season.

:)

And now...photo explosion!

At some point in the near future, I need to devote an entire post to my velvet obsession this Fall! I've found a handful of super fun pieces, and these simple, gorgeous, jewel-toned dresses for the girls (Old Navy!) are among them. So soft and cozy and lovely. We actually used them for family pics last weekend (more on that later), and I can't wait to see how they turn out!

The major highlight of this trip was the face painting for the girlies. We've only dabbled in it once (at a Christmas excursion last year), so they were in lurrrrv. And bawled like babies when we had to wash it off later when it was getting all over clothes and furniture at home!

Seriously a gorgeous day and beautiful capper to the weekend. We spent a lot of great time outdoors due nothis long  weekend, and I'm so grateful--considering the temperatures are about to tank again and it's supposed to rain for Halloween!

More tomorrow!
