Daddy’s On My Shite List

First, lemme just say that I drafted this entire post late last night and then lost it all (probably user error) and gave up on life. Ha.

Just kidding. I’m still ticking. Sort of.

And I’m gonna try again—and save often this time.

So, heeeeere we go!

The headline of this here post:

My kiddos have potty mouths lately. Literally.

Everything is about poo and poopoo and poop and potty and underwear and poopie pants and stinky poo and poopoo head, and I’m trying my darndest to wipe this line of everyday vocabulary from their reportoir.

And I’m failing miserably.

So imagine my “joy” (detect significant sarcasm here) when Daddy showed up on Valentine’s evening with a stuffed animal poo for each adoring child o’ ours.

Yup. He did it.

He fanned those flames.

Threw some major fuel on that fire.

Way to help me fight the good potty-mouthed fight, Daddy. Because now the kiddos can legitimately say things like:

Where’s my poo?

Or

I wanna sleep with my poo.

And I have no recourse, ha.

It’s a good thing I love him.

And also a good thing that it was Ash Wednesday and he was meeting us in the parking lot of the church, or he might have been the recipient of some choice words from this Mama bear.

It’s also also a good thing he brought the girlies adorable clip-on earrings that made them smile a mile wide.

Chica dubbed them her party earrings because they have tiny confetti inside. :)

Honestly, as busy as we’ve been lately, and as little family time as we’ve had, it was nice to focus on God this Valentine’s and a greater version of love than the one we celebrate with candy and flowers.

And it’s wonderful to see the kiddos start to understand the significance of some Lenten things in a small way. Chica was quite proud of her ashen cross.

And since we’re sort of working backwards with our Valentine’s recap...here are my girlies helping me wrap Daddy’s gifts. :)

They took their duties very seriously, tehe.

And before that, in the early afternoon, it was a joy to be able to join Chica’s class for their Valentine’s party. It was so gosh darn adorable to see all those little cutie-pies in red and pink.

I mean, don’t you just want to pink those cookie-stuffed cheeks???

I mean, I dare you to look at these faces and not smile.

And one final backwards step to our day...here are my babies just up for the morning, enjoying their small Valentine’s prizes.

Love all my Valentine’s, and I especially love that we’re getting a three-day weekend and, hopefully, a little chill family time.

With, hopefully, very little poo talk.

;)

Over and out, peeps.
