I’m going to give it to you straight, and make a confession.
On this Sunday evening, before the final Monday of Chica’s last week of kindergarten, I’m feeling a bit o’ the summer jitters.
(*Pause while I cover my face with my hands and squeal quietly.)
I mean, don’t get me wrong, there are sooooo many things that will be lovely to be done with for a few months (early, forced wake-ups and packing school lunches topping that list.)
But. There are also some things that I’m a bit anxious about.
(*Cue nervous face again.)
Well. Really...one thing.
And that’s having all three all day all summer, when Chica is now so accustomed to be stimulated mentally and socially all ding-dong-day!
What if she doesn’t like being with me all day, every day any more?????
Ha. I’m just kidding with that one.
If there’s one thing I do know, it’s that Chica loves her family and loves being home. So all will be well on that front.
But I do feel like there will be a bit of tap-dancing on my part to keep all three of my hooligans happy, entertained, mentally challenged, playfully challenged...while also being relaxed and carefree and just generally fun-loving summer kiddos.
Oye. What a challenge for parents the world over!
