Little Man’s Third Birthday—Decorations!

So...

Oh my stinking goodNESS, my boy, my BABY BOY, my third-born ITTY BITTY BABY BOY is a ginormous THREE YEAR OLD NOW! And it HURTS SO BAD I CAN’T EVEN STAND IT!!!

I mean...HOW did this happen???

How did my youngest turn THREE?!!

Stop this train, I wanna get off!

Mama can’t handle all this growing.

I can’t.

I just can’t.

But you know what I can deal with???

Birthday decorations.

I.

Am.

On.

It.

Gimme a birthday, any birthday—but especially a kiddo birthday—and I’ll do it up right.

And this year, for Little Man’s big day (that was officially on the 26th, but we fudged a bit to have the whoopla on a Saturday) was no exception.

My boy wanted TRUCKS.

And TRUCKS he got. :)

Now, I’m aware this looks extra-special obnoxious, but it sort of happened that the GIANT, cardboard trash truck and the bulldozer (which was actually a gift, not a decoration) just made it all seem over-the-top, ha.

But let’s face it—when have I ever worried about over-the-top when a balloon arch is involved???

I adore so much that we continue to do these household decorations and family outings (more on that in the next post) instead of traditional parties with friends involved.

I mean, those can be awesome, too, but I feel like we’re able to funnel our money into a more exciting, intimate day that all three kiddos can really enjoy and look forward to, so for the foreseeable future, we’re just gonna keep rollin’ with it! Until the day one of them begs for friends, and then that will be a fun adventure, too. :)

We just got him two gifts and two books (any other wrapped items you see in these pics are from grandparents)—but we had one major hit. Slammin’ Racers. Highly recommend it.

We seriously had such a lovely morning—and topped it all off with birthday cake for breakfast (our new-ish tradition), and Little Man didn’t hesitate to dive right in, post-candles and singing, ha.

And after all of that festive fun, we headed off to a lunch dine-in movie that was so unexpectedly cute (only because I hadn’t heard much about it before going) and even including singing. Woohoo!

Oh, and look at the twinning:

Times two! (And can we just pause to appreciate that pumpkin hug/smile, puh-lease???)

Poor Mama was the only one without a clothes buddy, ha.

I mean...loads o’ fun—and this was just the first half of the day. More in the next post!
