Hot Chocolate Mondays

So...we’ve got a new little tradition we’re rocking this holiday season, and it’s something so simple and so scrumptious that the joy it brings my trio is almost disproportionate, ha.

Here’s the complicated explanation, so follow carefully:

We drink hot chocolate on Mondays after school.

:)

Here’s my assistant, happily (and catefully) stirring, after the burner was turned off:

But the key ingredient to this holiday fun is that we don’t just drink plain hot chocolate in plain mugs.

Oh-hooooo no.

We create a mini hot chocolate bar (er, table) with tasty samplings of mini marshmallows, holiday marshmallows, mini chocolate chips, holiday sprinkles, and chocolate syrup.

And then I bust out my family Christmas mugs (that Chica now adores, because I told her they were “heirlooms.”  Naturally, she learned that word from a Fancy Nancy book, so her eyes lit up over the connection. ;)

And then...I just let them go nuts.

We usually end up with a ratio of one-third (room temp) hot chocolate, and two-thirds of other fun tidbits.

And for anyone who’s counting, that’s 100% sugar right there.

And also, 100% happy kiddos.

It’s a good way to cap off a Monday. :)

More mañana, peeps. But keep sending healing vibes our way. These sick kiddos just aren’t improving much. I mean, I had a Spider-Man down today. I repeat: a Spider-Man down.

And here was sissy, snuggling a sad, sick Chicklet. Oye.
