No Fuss Gingerbread Fun!

So...whaddya do when your kiddos are mostly feeling healthier, but your first-grader has to stay home from school because of a whole-body, hacking-lung-and-phlegm cough that just isn’t meant for school consumption???

Well.

You make a gingerbread house, of course.

And by “make,” I mean you finally wisen up and realize it’s soooooo not worth the effort to build one from scratch with three over-eager, tiny people rushing you into structurally unsound engineering, whilst secretly eating all the decorative candy, and instead, you buy a preassembled one.

Boom.

Yay, for none of the angst and all of the fun! (*Jazz hands.)

This was by far our most enjoyable (and tasty) gingerbread experience to date. :)

Naturally, because my crazies weren’t consuming enough sugar as it was, we instituted “icing breaks” every time we rotated the house to decorated a new side.

Basically, they stuck out their wee little hands, I squirted some wherever they directed, and they went nuts. Hehe.

Happy, happy, (sugar high) joy, joy.

This round of gingerbreading (yup, I’m making it a word!) was so lovely, in thinking about buying one for each kiddo next year and letting their individuality shine through. :)

Love these crazy nuggets.

And despite all the sickness and germs—I suppose the downtime its forced upon us has been much-needed.

Oh, and look what we spied on our brief, one-hour-fresh-air-lunch-outing?? Super fun.

Yay, holidays!

(Mostly) Happy Monday, peeps!

P.S. I never did get to finish my random, catch-up posts yesterday. So here’s hoping I can smuggle one or two in this week!

Over and out.
