To All The Holiday Mamas

So...this post goes out to all the amazing moms I know and admire for everything they do, all day, every day—and then so much more during the holidays.

Tonight, I found myself with my hot glue gun, assembling giant picture frame props for Chica’s holiday class party tomorrow, while other moms I know and love were in the trenches right along with me.

Dinner times.
Bath times.
Bed times.
Sick kiddos.
Present buying.
Gift wrapping.
Teacher gifts.
Class gift exchanges.
Pajama days.
Holiday sock days.
Homemade teacher appreciation treats.
Plates, napkins, forks and knives.
Holiday toy drives.
Dance class gift bags.
Celebration luncheons.
Party props.
Sprinkles and icing for cookie projects.
Classroom reading with project gift bags.

All these items and so many more have been on my list (and pretty much every mother’s list, the world over) for the past 10 days. And—with the exception of dinner, bath and bed—it’s exclusively my class-related holiday to-do list, that’s mostly handled in the nighttime hours. Let alone my general life holiday to-do list!

And it’s exhausting!

But it’s also magical.

And, yes, it’s all crammed into a teeny-tiny, jam-packed period of time, when everything else in the holiday universe is at its peak.

But.

I’m so grateful for my lovely mom friends who are just as chaotic and haphazard and happy and stressed as I am. Because it’s always nice to feel like you’re not alone. And the Mamas I’m grateful to call my friends make me feel so not alone.

And it’s extra nice to have friends so generous that they snag your eldest from school when your youngest is out cold for a gloomy-day nap.

Mothers are amazeballs.

And so are Daddies, for the record!

Nothing but love and respect to all the adults who help all the kiddos have a glorious holiday season.

And, now, can someone puh-lease gift me a nap for Christmas!

Over and out.
