Our Kiwi Backlog!

Oh. My. Heavens. I had the most startling revelation two days ago, and it totally bummed me out!

Our beloved Kiwi Crate subscription—the monthly project box that’s been delivered to our door for four years now and brought us so much joy—has fallen behind in our casa in a major way!

I mean, just look at how many boxes we’ve accumulated! One for every month means we are eight freaking months behind! How did this happen???

I’ll tell you how this happened. First grade, preschool, and unlucky sibling who gets dragged around for errands when his sisters are both in school!

I mean, looooong gone are the days when the box arrived at our front door and I wept tears of joy because I had three kiddos under the age of three and a half, and I need something—anything—to keep them occupied!

Life happened. School happened. Greater socialization happened. Heightened motor skills happened (that allowed for a wider range of crafting ‘round these parts, because you know we still do projects just as often!).

Deep sigh.

I’m also partly to blame because I grabbed each month’s delivery from the porch and stashed them in our craft closet—only to become alarmed by the backlog when I went to give that area the evil eye and think about reorganizing things before the move. Oye. So I suppose it was out of sight, out of mind.

But not anymore!

I busted out the boxes yesterday and used one (with wild success!) to pull my wildly cranky and manic kiddos out of their emotional spirals yesterday evening. And I’m determined to keep the boxes in my line of sight until we enjoy a few more of them.

So for now, I give you...pirate fun!

Hat, eye patch, ship sails, hand-held parrot and treasure map. :)

So that was yesterday evening, and then...guess what?? My evil plan of keeping the boxes out where we could see them worked like a charm when Little Man begged to do one while Chica and Chicklet were at school today. :) Woohoo!

I give you bug wings, antennae, and lady bug pouch.

So glad to have these fun diversion, and the nostalgic vibe of our original and favorite craft, during these days of so much change and upheaval.

And I suppose it all happened just as it should, as we’ve definitely been feeling the pain and angst of getting back into the school routine this week. So a project helped—as it always does—restore our happy mojo.

Thanks HEAVENS it’s nearly Friday, peeps!

Peace out.
