Some LOVEly Suncatchers

Well, m’peeps.

Hellooooo, from what I hope (I hope, I hope) is the flip side of a few yucky days for this Mama.

Long and short...all the kiddos have had health highs and lows (but mostly, middle to lows, ha) over the past 10 days, and Little Man was still in the throes of the worst of his on Sunday.

And then, in the wee hours of Monday morning, I tanked hard. Some of the most acute ear pain I’ve ever had (and I’ve certainly been through some rounds of pain on that front) that left me with only a teeny tiny bit of sleep logged for the night, and a body that felt like it had been hit by a truck.

In the end, I had to drag myself to the doctor, and came away with a ton o’ prescriptions, and a diagnosis of bronchitis, a sinus infection, and double ear canal infections (the truly, heinous culprits that took me down).

So...reinforcements were called in, and I’m so grateful to have three, wonderful grandparents at the ready who will always jump in the car when I place the S.O.S.  call (and I’m trying not to think of how sad it will be when we have the added layer of a flight they will have to catch instead, when we move).

Grandma and Grandpa were there will bells on by Monday afternoon, and I’ve spent the past couple of days in various states of sleep and lounge and slight re-immersion to the real world.

But tonight, finally, right at the 48-hour mark on the antibiotics, I feel like maybe the low point has passed. My ears are still horrifically awful (stuffed up like there is cotton in there and I’m under water, and I can’t hear a darn thing, not to mention the lingering tenderness and pain), but perhaps they will just take longer to simmer down.

So...here’s hoping we can cap off what hasn’t been the best two weeks on a better note!

And in the meantime, here are some pics of a really lovely and engaging project we managed on Monday morning, while I was holding on by a thread before help arrived!

It was a little craft I picked up at Tarjay, and totally a winner.

It came with three pieces to decorate—two hearts, and one “love.” Obviously, a perfect number for my trio.

And the best part about these particular suncatchers, which made them far and above better than any others we’ve done...the strips of colored paper that were included were of a plastic variety, not tissue paper-esque! So if they accidentally got stuck or placed somewhere that tiny hands didn’t want them, they were repositionable without tearing—which was awesome!!!

And the other major bonus to this project that had my kiddos totally invested: scissor usage!

We don’t do a ton of cutting projects yet, so it was a real treat to bust out the safety scissors. And Little Man and Chicklet did so great!

Chicklet, in particular, was wildly precise and adorable and awesome with this craft. :)

Concentration tongue. I lurv.

So proud of my dedicated little nuggets on this one. They were so cute and determined.

Grateful to feel slightly more human this evening than I felt yesterday evening. But still hoping for some decent rest and further improvement mañana.

Over and out, peeps.
