Nature Preserving Some Sanity

So...if you read this here blog in consecutive order, you might recall that on Monday, I was a prickly cactus. Poor attitude and subpar mothering.

So I gave myself a may-jah attitude adjustment (I seem to have to do that every other day, ha), and rallied for Tuesday. Productivity and happy activities with the kiddos—plus a lot o’ outdoor time on an overcast day that was kinda groovy, not gloomy.

Now...the bestest part of our outdoor time was some exploring in the “secret passageway” that’s actually a nature preserve within the neighborhood, that happens to back up to our property.

We explored it for the first time this past weekend, and just a short trek through acres of fun out there, left quite an impression on the kiddos. I can already imagine the loads o’ fun we’re going to have out there. I mean, it’s seriously cool (and, yes, grandparents, we’ll keep an eye out for critters).

(And, yup, Chica explored the preserve, too, she was just on a potty break with Daddy during the first set of pics below, and then at school for the second set.)

I mean, it’s seriously going to be a really cool asset for us, and the stomping ground for oodles of exploring and adventures. :)

Since Chica didn’t get to go on the second round of nature fun, I took my crazies up to the neighborhood playground after school, and it was such a fun time.

For some reason, it’s awesomely breezy up there, which is fan-freaking-tastic for those of us who, you know, loathe the heat!

Also—after the slide and basketball fun, we ran around as superheros saving the day, and it was a blast, hehe.

(Photo cred for the following goes to Chica, who said I looked tall.)

And look at my stinking, freaking, adorable boy, who was Hawkeye with his bow and arrow. :)

Soooooo grateful for a reprieve from the angst of the house renovations that just won’t wrap up.

Fresh air always helps.

And so do projects! We did a really cute one that I’ll post about soooon.

Happy Hump Day, peeps!
