Prickly

This cactus at our new house is my current spirit animal—all prickly and sad and a bit worse for the wear:

But.

It got a new hairdo today, and now it looks loads healthier—and also, sort of like a funny pineapple.

And just take a look at those those stubs where the leaves (stems? petals? I need to read up on my cactus lingo) used to be. Like, three inches thick!

If only I could give myself a haircut and a personality adjustment just as easily, ha.

But I think at least for another day or two, I’m gonna live with my prickliness...like these other wild cacti on the property:

In other news—despite my prickliness and uncensored answers when people ask me how things are, I’m trying to fake it ‘till I make it, to at least keep the kiddos entertained.

I give myself a C- for the day, but my kiddos get an A+ for cuteness—and I’m gonna aim for a B+ on the mothering front tomorrow.

Goals, peeps.

It’s all about attitude adjustment goals these days.

Over and out.
