Summer Fiesta Texas Kickoff!

Holy heavens did we kick off summer break in a BIG (flaming hot) way, today!!

With a family trip to Six Flags/Fiesta Texas as part of the hubby’s annual family day for his new company. Woohoo!!

Now...first: it must be said that the individual who decided to have the company family day, outdoors, at Six Flags, in SA, in JUNE, might need to be roughed up a li’l bit.

I mean...helloooo, holy inferno of hotness!

Alas. The heat so did NOT keep us from joining in on this event as a way to mark off a major bucket list item from our new city list!!

(Whilst wearing totally unflattering—in fit and in lime green color—company shirts, I might add, ha.)

Needless to say, the kiddos were PUMPED for the last two weeks, since they heard of this blessed event. And it really was a happy day. :)

Luckily, there was such minimal work/social niceties involved. Basically just a stop at the pavillion that offered free food and beverages—and some awesomesauce little games with stuffed animals and superhero capes as prizes!! I mean, talk about a SCORE right from the start. Saved us a boatload in money and whining over souvenirs. Woo-freaking-whoo!

This pic is hands-down one of my faves of the day. ;)

Now. Sometime just after this train ride, the hubby had to leave to deal with my car and an appointment at the dealership that’s a long story and potentially not a fun one, so we’ll save that for another day. Oye. Definitely wasn’t part of our plan.

BUT. We’d been there less than two hours at this point, and the kiddos were not at all ready to go. So...while the hubby spent nearly two hours on a dealership/Uber to home/his car back to Six Flags with car seats round trip...Mama was at the park with all three nuggets, alone. Ha.

Not gonna lie...wasn’t super easy. But, blessedly, wasn’t super terrible, either. Mainly because the lines everywhere we went were manageable, we’d rented a double stroller to minimize tiny leg exhaustion, and I kept the sugar coming in a steady stream. Giant Icees?? Absolutely. Ice cream?? Heck, yeah. Sit here and enjoy. Ha.

So we managed to enjoy every single ride in the kid section of the park—and a really fun family river rapid-like boat ride.

It was great. :) And EXHAUSTING. And I applied sunscreen four times, to four of us, in four hours. (Which is four times four too many applications to be enjoyable, ha). But no sunburns—woohoo!

Really REALLY pumped for all these kiddo smiles today—and for tackling this really major to-do item FOR FREE!

Better yet—we scored free passes to come back another day in the future. (And we will sooooo be taking advantage of that come FALL, thankyouverymuch).

And better, BETTER yet: this was just Friday, so we have a whole weekend still ahead of us! Woohoo!

Happy first week of June, peeps!

Over and out.
