Tuesday DO-Day: NOTHING

Well, m’peeps.

We made it home. Woohoo!

But what a bit of a journey it was.

Yesterday, after checking out of the lake resort and beginning our 90-minute trek back to HOTLANTA and the airport, we had a bit of a snag.

We were driving diagonally behind a MAC truck that was hauling a tractor on its bed. And that tractor had a door (with a glass window, as most doors have) that wasn’t secured and was flapping in the breeze. And that flapping door shattered, raining glass down upon our car.

I mean, seriously??? What are the odds?

I’m beyond pleased to report that we were startled, but safe. Yet, nevertheless, we were driving a rental, and so did not want to be responsible for any freak damage.

So we had to pull over, along with the MAC driver, who called his boss and was instructed to file a police report. So. That’s just what you want to sit and wait on when you’re heading to catch a flight, ha.

It all moved rather efficiently, and we covered all our bases. And, thankfully, we had oodles of time before our flight.

That said, Atlanta airport, you are one busy beast.

It’d been some time since I flew through there. And traveling for business versus as a family of five with 2,714 suitcases, golf clubs and two car seats, is quite a different story, ha.

And then we had the good fortune of our departure gate being changed thrice—to different terminals, no less.

So we totally ran Home Alone style with the kiddos through the airport, and completely wore the little buggers out.

During one super-brief stop while the hubby ran ahead to double-check our gate assignment, they all legit collapsed like this:

And I lurv that shot so much, it brings my heart great hilarity and joy, hehe.

So...needless to say, they were happy to finally rest their little legs and chill on the flight. :)

So grateful they are increasingly easier to distract and entertain on flights.

So grateful to have had such a wonderful reprieve from the norm and our chaos of the past few months.

So grateful to be home in our comfy beds.

And sooooo grateful we chose to stay in pajamas all ding, dong day (until swim lessons at nearly 6 pm), so I could dive into the mountain of laundry I have to wade through.

:)

Happy, Tuesday DO (NOTHING) Day, m’peeps!

Over and out.
