Colorado Springs 2019–Day 1

Well, peeps.

We did it!

After a few morning hours of why-in-the-world-did-we-do-this-to-ourselves-packing-up-a-family-of-five-sucks rage and accompanied heinous moods (ha), we made it to the airport with giant bells on, breezed through the easiest, most on-time flight ever, and went from this...

To this:

I mean, hulloooooo, beautiful change-up. We are so glad we jumped on this ridiculously spur-of-the-moment ride. :)

We arrived in town with just enough time to grab some quick food and make it to our glorious destination before we lost the light.

And to say the kiddos had a blast once they realized they got to climb things and be out in nature without sweating would be an understatement. They were shouting things like, “this is the best thing ever!” and “I can’t believe this!” and “can we stay here the whole time?!” Ha.

So grateful for the beautiful surroundings and weather before the temps plummet tonight!

More mañana. :)

P.S. Chicklet got adorably nervous come dusk when she spotted the moon and was convinced we were going to turn into werewolves, ha. Halloween mojo is working its magic, tehe. Hence the second to the last pic where they’re all making wolf ears.

P.P.S. I don’t think we’ll ever remove all the red rock dirt dust from our clothes and our shoes. But it was so worth it. :)
