Oktoberfest At Church!

Okay, so I’ve been saying and saying over the past few days that I need to do some catch-up posts (you know, in all that spare time I always have), but I’m really really gonna try to make it happen today!

Because this was my eldest after church yesterday (so adorably accessorized, I might add)...

And both girlies after church yesterday...

But I still haven’t managed to post a li’l tidbit about church the previous Sunday, haha. And it’s definitely worth a little sharing, because it was Oktoberfest! :)

Now, if I’ve said it once I’ve probably said it half a dozen times on this here blog: one of the biggest blessings of this difficult move has most certainly been the discovery of our new church.

It’s large, but welcoming. An incredibly well-oiled machine and beautiful campus, with a pre-K through 12th grade school. The music is dynamic, and the pastors (and their messaging!) is stellar.

Basically, alllllll good things. At a time in our lives when we’re finally able to worship happily as a family, and without tiny-child angst. And it’s so wonderful that our trio of crazy kiddos is developing positive associations with the place that fills our spiritual cups so well these days.

And, with spiritual happy/happy/joy/joy a given...it’s just a bonus that this lovely church of ours puts some major effort into their community events throughout the year. And this was no exception.

Three major inflatables (giant slides, obstacle courses, worm tunnels) rock wall climbing, giant inflatable ball rolling (what’s the technical term for this bubble experience? Ha.), and fun carnival booths. It was all so lively, and the kiddos were all in.

Now, if only the weather had been slightly less than 93-degrees—oye. We had some pink-cheeked kiddos. But happy kiddos.

So grateful to be building some new traditions here during the start of the holiday season. Between our little library spooky walk and this fun Oktoberfest, I feel like we’ve established some things to look forward to annually.

Now if only we’d made it to a corn maze or official pumpkin patch! Something to research for next year, although I’ve got a few ideas written down that we might try to experience between now and Thanksgiving.

Here’s hoping!

Over and out.
