Distancing Day 13: Birthday Feels!

So...this stinking adorable hot mess (she selected her bike riding outfit and declined to brush her hair, tehe; she’s very rock chic, no?) is turning SIX tomorrow:

SIX!!



Though technically, her birthday is on Monday, we’re doing the whole shebang tomorrow, because it’s just more fun to party hearty on the weekend. And because we had to steal Daddy’a temporary desk back for party setup/decorations, ha.

We’ve been busy little bees tonight. Frozen 2 theme, heeeere we come!

Seems appropriate, given Elsa was the original social distancing queen, yes?? ;)



It’s going to be a bit different having the birthday under quarantine. I mean, we typically celebrate as a family rather than with an extended party-with-friends thing, so it’s what the kiddos love and expect. Going all out with decorations inside the house is the thing that excites them the most. 

But. We always throw some lovely activity or adventure in the mix, and that will be missing this year. :(



We’ll just have to make it up at a later date. Something to look forward to. :)



And speaking of something to look forward to...these birthday festivities have been a great diversion during our cabin fever. I’m so grateful I was pretty on the ball this year and had most of Chicklet’s decorations and little gifts already in order ahead of time.

And it was lovely to bake her double layer chocolate cake instead of just ordering on, and to see the anticipation in her giddy little eyes. And Little Man certainly took advantage of licking the dang pan clean, haha.





Looking forward to really celebrating my beloved second-born tomorrow and giving her a special, special day.

It’s been pure joy to create each and every one of these memories, and I can only hope my babies feel LOVED and excited and just so, dang, SPECIAL every year their day rolls around. :)
