Distancing Day 24: SLIME!

Well, m’peeps.

Our goal these days is to try not to have two thumbs-down days in a row. So after our challenging day yesterday (with lots o’ time outs and crankiness and a Tuesday case of the Mondays) we regrouped and made it through slightly better today. :)

School work, doodle time (more on that in another post), play time, some quiet time, and...when the temp got to 93 degrees right when we were set to go on our neighborhood walk, we decided to bail, stay inside and make SLIME.

Thank heavens I’ve had this easy-breezy, simple kit on hand for ages. You know, for a rainy (or in case of stay-at-home-orders day):

It literally was as easy as pouring two things into a bowl and mixing, which is way better than concocting slime from complete scratch—especially when that from-scratch slime ends up a really gooey and oozy consistency that doesn’t really hold together.

But this stuff—this stuff was awesomesauce.

Perfectly stretchy. Not too sticky; not too dry. The kiddos played with it for ages. And the only remaining test will be to see what it’s like tomorrow.

And now...oodles of happy, smiling, slime-playing-kiddos pics:

Oh, and I bonus pic: I forced the kiddos to hop in the car for a joy ride down the street with the windows down and the music on. And even though they complained loudly about it (apparently, they never want to leave the house—except for our walks—ever, ever again, ha), I won them over in the end. Especially Little Man. :)

Tomorrow’s Thursday, peeps.

Stay healthy and sane.

Over and out.
