Breathe In, Breathe Out

Well, m’peeps.

It was not a great day.

Which brings us to two good days, and two awful ones this week, for anyone who’s counting.

But.

I’m gonna take a cue from my beloved, centered middle child, and take a moment to breathe.

She so awesomely told me this morning that she needed quiet and she needed to mediate.

So she did.

Several times.

Both in the playroom and her bedroom (when Little Man just wouldn’t be silent).

I don’t exactly know where this came from, as I’m not someone who mediates myself, though I can vaguely remember mentions of mediation in a couple of cartoons we’ve seen.

But I can also remember a certain “brain break” video they used to watch in kindergarten that focused on deep breathing and calming the mind and body. So perhaps that was her inspiration.

Whatever the reason, whatever the location...I hope it helped my girl today, and it certainly brought a smile to my face (I mean, you should have seen the adorable hand motions she did along with her breathing).

And I’m super glad I snuck a little video when I was supposed to be mediating with her, because it’s such an adorable little snippet—made even more awesomesauce by the fact that she’s sitting directly under the rainbow in her bedroom, ha.

Such an earth Mama. :)

And a good lesson for us all.

Over and out.
