Sunday Church Service Crafts

Well, m’peeps.

I continue to be so, dang grateful for this long, holiday weekend.

For many reasons, I think the timing of this slight recharge is extra poignant this year, and we’ve been doing all we can to really soak it up.

Especially as things will start to change a bit this week.

Our virtual learning will remain exactly the same for weeks to come, but beginning Tuesday, five students per classroom (who qualified for in-person learning via a slew of district conditions, including special learning needs, parental work conflicts, etc.) will return to in-person learning, which means the teachers will now have to divide their attention between 75% of their class still virtual, and 25% in person. And I expect a few bumps in the road for all involved.

And, secondly, after a mandate to work exclusively from home that’s been in place for a second time since Covid cases spiked again in our area in early June, the hubby will now be returning to an in-person work rotation that will have him in the office two days a week.

So...yeah.

Not gonna lie. I’m feeling just a bit off.

Changes on the horizon—good, bad or ugly, always leave me feeling a bit off kilter.

So it’s been good to be able to take some time this weekend to nest and spend family time and do a little early-Fall closet cleaning and decoration round-up.

Thankfully, one constant for us since the second week of March that’s been enormously comforting: our online streaming church service. I’m so grateful for this touchstone—even as I look forward to the day we can worship again, without germ worries, in person.

Traditionally, when we’re on site for church services, the kiddos are ushered out of the sanctuary to another spot on campus for their “kid’s church” just before the sermon begins. But since we don’t have that luxury at home, we’ve been in the habit of setting up some coloring or a little project to occupy them during that time so the hubby and I can focus a tiny bit, and I’m pleased to report that the kiddos sometimes absorb some of the sermon along the way, as they’re listening and crafting. :)

Today’s project...some Halloween stencil painting and sponge fun.

No other explanation necessary (beyond noting our pastor in the background of the first shot, hehe).

And now, as a Sunday send-off...enjoy this selfie the girlies took in the car on a coffee run this afternoon. Love their sillies. :)

Happy Sunday, peeps.

Over and out.
