Chicklet’s 7th Birthday Celebration!

See this beautiful, boisterous, imaginative, inquisitive, joyful, social, belly-laughing, animal-loving, soulful, earth-attuned kiddo of mine???

We celebrated her birthday today, and it was CHOCK FULL of fun and family time.

She’s officially SEVEN years old on Tuesday. But since we tend to go a little decoration crazy with our household birthday celebrations—which is difficult to enjoy on a school day morning, before being rushed out the door—we marked the fun TODAY.

And my Chicklet requested a Raya (the latest Disney movie) birthday theme. Woohoo.

Now.

Let the record show that the hubby and I are absolutely burning the candle at both ends these days.

Falling into a coma at bedtime, rather than a night of sleep, ha.

But this was one event we were happy to devote our time and attention to—even if we had to set up the decoration hoopla upstairs, since the house is mass chaos (massive understatement) at the moment.

And let the record also show that Chicklet has had eventful birthday timing for the past few years.

Two years ago, we’d just moved to San Antonio to our new house that was, well...pretty much as torn up as it is right now.

And then last year, we were two weeks into a global pandemic and lockdown.

And now...this year, we’re knee-deep in winter storm fallout and house destruction.

Oye.

Maybe next year we should celebrate her half birthday??? ;)

Anywho.

The decorations were plentiful.

The cake frosting was, too.

The presents were probably a bit too many.

But the smiles were totally worth it.

And we absolutely indulged our girlie with her own birthday YES day, and hopefully made her feel one fraction as special as she actually is (which is immeasurable).

My three crazies were crazy giddy when the woke, busting at the seams to be let out of the bedroom to see the fun. Like a mini Christmas morning, as always. Tehe.

For the record, her “Yes Day” requests included:

Cake for breakfast.

Video games on command.

Happy Meals for lunch.

Starting the first Harry Potter book!!!

Pizza for dinner.

And...a visit to Target for one last toy, ha.

Here she is, valiantly defending herself against Daddy’s birthday spankings, ha.

Sweet sisters...

And excited reader! She’s been counting down the days until her big seventh birthday to begin the Harry books, just like sissy. :)

And...the final bit of her spoiled-to-the-core birthday.

LOVE this girl like mad, mad, mad.

She is and absolute JOY and LIGHT in our world.

Her brain and heart and soul continuously astounds me, and I’m SO VERY GRATEFUL she was born seven years ago.

Here’s to another maddeningly CRAZY week with a lot of spinning plates. But I’m so happy we celebrated such a beautiful and busy-with-fun day.

Over and out.
