Halloween Baking Show!

Oh. My. Heavens. PEEPS.

As if we weren’t already Halloween-obsessed around our casa, we had to go and discover a little seasonal GEM that has amped up our spooktacular fun—and made us crave all things elaborate and yummy!

I give you…

Now, apparently we are just slow to catch on to this baking fun, because I think it’s already six seasons and running.

But that just makes it extra-fun for us because we’ve got more content to view than we can possibly fit in before the end of October, hehe.

It is sooooo fun to snuggle up as a family before bedtime and watch an episode (or at least half of one) and hear my crazies speculate on the winners, the twists, the treats…and just generally imagine that they are now master pastry chefs, simply from watching. :)

Yeah, sure, the baking does get a bit gruesome from time to time, and we typically prefer a more cutesy Halloween vibe amongst our crew. But…considering my crazies’ costume selections for this year, perhaps we’re right on brand for 2021, ha.



As a side note: yesterday, I busted out some play-doh for the first time in perhaps a year, and the kiddos were SO content to mold and build. And, hilariously, they crafted a ton of baked goods! Cupcakes, cookies, tiered cakes—all thanks to the show’s inspiration.

So I’m already scheming a really fun way to give them their own Halloween “baking” challenge with play-doh instead of food, because I think it would have more instantaneous—and achievable—results, with equal amounts of hilarity.

Plus, ya know…still no oven in the casa, so a true bake-off might be a little tough. Oye.

Anywho.

LOVING this new addition to our spooky season—especially since our beloved Crikey! is on hiatus. It’s definitely filling our family-viewing void. :)
