Bake & Play Holidate!

Well, peeps.

We’re a mere 48 hours from the kiddos’ halfway point of the school year, and the kickoff of the holiday break, and I COULD NOT be more excited.

Of course, there’s a decent bit to tackle between now and Friday around 3 p.m., but when that final bell rings, we are going to be jingling our bells, BIG TIME.

In the past few weeks, we’ve had a slew of social events, parties, school commitments, themed celebrations, and all the trimmings that go with a typical, hectic-but-wonderful, holiday season. And I think it’s all felt so cheerful because we weren’t able to celebrate in this way last year.

That said, I am sooooo looking forward to closing our ranks as a family, ending our time spent with others, and burrowing in just the five of us until family arrives for Christmas.

But before we activate cocoon mode, we hosted one last social hurrah this afternoon/evening with our buddies down the street, and my kiddos had an absolute blast.

We had grand plans to tackle our traditional sugar cookies on our own some time this week, but a since we often meet up to play together on Wednesdays, and the weather was too gloomy for playground shenanigans, we decided to sync up and make it a bake-and-play holidate instead. :)

Not much to be said other than it was BIG fun, and a BIG mess, ha. The sprinkles were liberal, but so were the smiles. And I’ll take that trade-off any day.

Tomorrow’s going to be a great day for reasons I’ll post mañana.

Until then…HAPPY HUMP DAY, peeps!

We can do this.

Only a few more days ‘til the holiday!
