Vail 2022–Day 1

Helloooooooo, from…VAIL!

Amen, Halleluiah! We made it out of town!

Despite the crazy-can’t-predict-‘em setbacks of Chica’s broken arm and the hubby’s COVID (each of which ruined a packed-and-ready-to-go-trip), we managed to get on a plane and arrive at our destination yesterday without incident.

Woohoo!!

This whole excursion came together on a whim after Hawaii had to be rescheduled for the end of the summer. Needless to say, we were pretty bummed when that happened, and disappointed not to be able to launch our June with an adventure.

So we brainstormed a couple of locations (keeping Colorado at the top of our list, since we’ve managed a handful of fantastic, low-key, and often-last-minute trips there), the hubby worked his magic, and…voila!

Considering our weather back in San Antonio is hot and heinous triple digits, these low-70s (as a high) feel like a DREAM.

Just a few days of soaking in the great outdoors will do wonders for our morale, and we’re so grateful to be here.

I’ll keep the text short and the pictures plentiful from here on out. Today’s activities included:

The Betty Ford Alpine Gardens
Vail Village
Lionshead
Exploring the terrain near our hotel
