Halloween Costume Hunting!

Okay, peeps.

In case it isn’t super obvious after a decade of posts on this here blog (a decade, people!), not to mention, several weeks now of previewing our 2022 autumnal love…we are HERE FOR FALL, and sooooo ready for all the fun it entails!

Obviously, I’m an early and often kinda gal when it comes to my seasonal celebrations, so it’s been a family tradition now for many years running, to peruse for costumes during the first weekend after Labor Day. :)

Which meant today was the day!

I’ve obviously bred my children right, since Little Man walked up to the Halloween section (that isn’t even fully built and stocked, yet, ha), and spread his arms wide like, Halleluiah, and ta-daaaaaaaa

We always have so much fun searching through everything.

So many items seem fairly consistent year over year, but then there are always some of-the-moment costumes and odds and ends—like these masks—to entertain us.

I absolutely LURV the fact that, every year, the kiddos go in to our shopping with vague ideas of what they want…and then end up in an entirely fresh direction based on what they see. It’s the BEST.

And this year was no different.

I’m happy to report that even though we shop early for our costumes, we don’t often have massive changes of heart as we approach Halloween.

That said, we tend to have a handful of occasions leading up to Halloween night when the kiddos can don their costumes. So sometimes, they wear their new costume for one event, and then switch over to an older costume for actual trick-or-treating—or vice versa. And I’m totally great with that. As long as it all gets used!

And believe me…it continually gets used, since we save allllll the costumes, year over year, and the kiddos lurv busting them out.

We can’t wait to start getting out some of our household decorations soon, as well.

I’ll probably start gathering up the storage bins this week, and make a plan for a fun day to unload it all, beginning next weekend. :)

Today, after Tar-jay, we popped across the street to Spirit. And even though it’s not my favorite (because it’s much creepier and darker), they have an expansive costume selection, and it helped us round out all the kiddos’ picks.

In the end, we nailed down all three kiddos’ costumes and I really adore what they’ve each ended up with.

We had to order a few props and one costume in a different size, so next week, when it’s all arrived, I’ll stage one of our super fun and silly photo shoots on a happy day and share it all. :)

Sooooooo happy to keep this Fall train trucking along. It’s such a delight to have all these seasonal diversions to bring smiles and activities to all. I love it.

Happy Weekend, peeps!

Over and out.
