All Hallow’s Eve EVE

Okay, peeps.

What’s scarier on All Hallow’s Eve EVE than a mouth full o’ strep throat???

Yup.

My Mama intuition was correct.

Chicklet went to bed last night with a throat that was bothering her, and by the wee hours of the morning, she up and crying and feverish and full of strep throat.

Shocker (except, NOT).

Honestly, I’m only shocked it took this long to take her down.

LUCKILY, we were ON it for this round and had the first dose of antibiotics in her system before 7:30 a.m., and considering it only takes 12 hours these days to be non-contagious, it was pretty perfect timing to have her already feeling better by dinner time.

Modern medicine is beautiful, sometimes, peeps. At least when you’re dealing with something bacterial.

Anywho.

Thanks to the ongoing germs, it was an IN day for us, streaming church online, and indulging in lots of Halloween odds and ends to try and soak in this final day or so.

Like…spider web waffles. :)

And our favorite silly cups.

Interspersed with lots of rest and quarantine by Chicklet.

Followed by the bestest Halloween cookie cake with the mostest icing I’ve ever encountered on one of these bad boys (though poor Chicklet wasn’t really up to eating much until later in the day).

Next up (during streaming church)…coloring our witch’s village that we hadn’t managed to bust out, yet. Perfect day for it.

Chicklet even worked on her portion from the master bedroom (where her germs were mostly isolated today, ha)

All throughout the day, we also worked on the puzzle I started last week. A 500 piece one that was a little bit tricky but oh so cute.

Ta-da! By evening, we completed it. :)

And speaking of evening…my sick girl wanted her favorite: quiche. And what my sick babies want, my sick babies get, ha. Along with these nifty little air fryer apple donut thingies (technical term) I tried out.

And, look! Officially 13 hours from her initial antibiotic dosage, and therefore, one hour past contagious, she was around us again. :) Showing off her beauuuutiful witch’s house structure that Nanna helped color for her today—along with a trusty face mask, ha.

Oh! And one final All Hallow’s Eve EVE treat…we got Boo’ed for a second time!! So exciting; just before bed. :) And such a cute bag with poppers and squishies. It was a big hit.

So…all in all, an oddly busy but lovely IN day—and recovery day for my girl.

I’m soooooo hoping none of the rest of us fall ill and can manage to have a happy Halloween mañana.

It’s so crazy to me that tomorrow is THE DAY. We’re so looking forward to it! So here’s hoping everything can pull together their health for at least ONE day!

Happy All Hallow’s Eve EVE, peeps!

Over and out.
