My Little Book Worm

The sight of this girl with her nose in a book will NEVER get old.

When I scanned through all these pictures I captured yesterday, they brought me to actual tears.



It’s a beautiful thing to witness Chicklet’s growing love of reading—not to mention, her never-ending literacy advancements.



She finds so much joy in the stories she connects with, becoming absorbed to the point of tuning out everything around her. 



It’s absolutely surreal every time I have to holler, “put down the book!” Ugh. Those are words that just hurt my soul, but are occasionally necessary—like when she’s about to topple down the stairs or roll off her scooter, ha.

So I only request a cease and desist of the reading under dire circumstances. ;)



I’m so grateful to her wonderful school librarian who has made it a lovely little mission to continue funneling books her way that are exactly the type she enjoys. We hit the jackpot with another cute graphic novel series last week.

It takes a village, peeps.

And we’ve got a fantastic one built when it comes to my Chicklet and her literacy. :)
