Christmas 2022!

Helloooooo, peeps, and Merry Christmas, 2022 style!

We had happy plans to be in Oklahoma with family, but in keeping with the wonkiness of our season, those plans went off the rails just as were about to load up for the drive a few days ago:

Wah-wahhhhhh.

Obviously, we had a ton of feelings about the wrench thrown in our plans. And it took a day or two to work our way through those feelings.

But, eventually, we gained a level of acceptance and just enjoyed the holiday for what it was: an unusual, hunkered-down, low-key year, unlike any other we’ve ever had.

This pic is one I love from the day, and it pretty much says it all:

Just lots of coziness, a couple remaining Santa gifts, FaceTime with family, and chillaxing.

It was oddly nice to see the kiddos really working to express gratitude and appreciation for any and all gifts or joys, big and small.

It might not have been the raucous, extra kind of Christmas we know and love, but the five of us were together, Little Man has worked his way through this latest virus pretty well, and there were lots of smiles to be had. :)

Heated blankets for all! So they can stop stealing mine, ha.

And seeing this dude walk around in his bright green Creeper Blanket all day was lots of happy, happy, joy, joy. :)

Another magical, interactive gift for the win!

Yuuuum, for comforting soup.

Drone shenanigans…

And some fresh (crisp!) air to cap it off.

Grateful for my crew and for the beautiful day.

Merry Christmas to all, and to all, a GOOD NIGHT!

Over and out.
